Tips To Keep Home Makeover Cost Low

1 NO WHITE ELEPHANTS
Think about whether you really need that stylish look that's going to cost more. Some people might consider hiring an interior designer to design a nice looking kitchen. But if they don't cook a lot, that kitchen is going to be a white elephant, and they could have spent more on an area they use more.

2 GO BASIC IN THE BATHROOM
If you are not fussy, stick with the basic bulit in shower set that comes with each home. new sets can cost between $200 and $700. also consider if you really need hot water for your bathroom sinks. Plain cod water taps can cost as little as $20 but taps that mix cold and hot water can go for $120 to $180.

3 DIY HOME FIXES
A cheap and easy way to transform a room is to paint the walls. Doing it yourself will keep it to just paying for paint and brushes. Go with a rich or deep colour tone on one wall and a lighter tone on others for depth. another simple and cost effective way to brighten a room is to hang panels of cloth like quilts as artwork on the walls.

4 FLOORS GALORE
If you' re in love with the idea of wood flooring, go for bamboo as it is a cheaper alternative to parquet. It costs abt 10 to 15 % less than parquet and is more durable.

5 USE LEFTOVERS
If you've re-tiles your bathroom, keep leftover ytiles to create a wall feature in another room. A feature wall built from scatch could cost anywhere from $500. Plus, you've already paid for the tiles, so reusing them is a clever, economical thing to do.

Feng Shui tips For Home

1) There should be no shoes or slippers lying around outside the main door of your house. Remove it if you can. Allow that space at the main door to be free and clear. The chi (energy) rides with the wind and will collect all the smell of those shoes and slippers into your house causing sickness. Ch’i then travels about in your house looking for water to stay but if there are no water fountains or fish tanks, then the Ch’i will be dispersed by wind.

2) There should be no television sets in your bedrooms: If you cannot get rid of that habit then after watching the television cover it with a plastic table cloth. Remember it has to be plastic and not simply cloth.

3) There should be no mirrors opposite your bed or at the side of your bed. Mirrors opposite the bed can attract a third party to the relationship. Therefore, do not place mirrors anywhere you like and especially in your bedroom.

4) Place an indoor water fountain in your home, position in a favourable area to attract whatever you want in your life.

5) If you already have a fish tank in your house, be careful. A fish tank placed correctly can bring about greater fortune, as you will tap on the "Divine Water Dragon's Den". But if you tap wrongly, it can cause you to have lawsuits, bankruptcy, work pressure, troubles and problems. If you noticed any of these after placing the fish tank for approximately four months, shift your fish tank to another location.

6) In your kitchen, ensure that opposite your stove there is no refrigerator, washing machine, washbasin and toilet. The fire and water crash causing family members to have disagreements.

7) Try not to allow children to sleep on mattresses on the floor. Yes, this allows young children not to fall off beds but it also causes young children to fall sick frequently. The reason is: chi is not able to flow underneath the bed. Ideally, chi should circulate around the mattress where our children sleep to allow them to be healthy.

8) For young children, try to have their back to the wall when they write. It is important there should be a solid wall behind a children's writing table. This allows the child to have support so that he can sit there and study longer rather than for only half an hour and then they tend to move about because there is no solid wall behind their back. Adjust your writing table.

9) Do not allow children to sleep on double bunk beds even if it means saving space. The child sleeping underneath will not have "fresh chi" and so his health might be weak. But if due to space constraints, then monitor your child's health if not add in a metal 6 rods wind chime or a crystal sphere, to break up the "stale chi" around his bed.

10) Your bed should always have a solid wall behind you. This is important if you wish to have a good rest. A solid wall simply means that you can go into deeper sleep and therefore enabling you to have good rest so that when you wake up in the morning, you will feel fresh and well rested. This also allows you to be able to concentrate on your work better.

11) There should be no beam on top of your bed. The beam above causes chi to be pressured thus enabling you to have pressures in life. Therefore, don't place furniture underneath it or alternatively level the beam. But make sure if you choose the latter, it is important that you have enough height for that space.

12) If you have a lot of work pressure, maybe it's the marble table that you have in your dinning room that causes you to have those problems. Remove that marble table and change to a wooden one or alternatively live with that work pressure!

13) If your child usually falls sick in that bedroom: Then either change them to another bedroom or simply hang a six rod metal wind chime as the metal element will break all the earth energies in that room. After hanging, if the wind could not do the job for you then you will have to "chime" it yourself and then watch for the good results.

14) Do not use a red sofa set: The colour red represent the element of fire. And for Feng Shui, some places simply cannot have the colour red in that sector. For example: the wealth area or some other sectors which without a Feng Shui check would be unable to tell you where it is. A red sofa sets gives rise to heavy work pressure, troubles and obstacles.

15) Always open your bedroom windows at least once 20 minutes a day to allow fresh chi to come in, we do this so that it allows fresh new chi from outside to come into your bedroom, if not you will be sleeping with stale chi every night. And if that happens, then how can you expect your life to bring in more good fortune to come to you? So open that window and never mind if dusts comes in! The great good fortune that you can have will far exceeds the time you take to clean off the dust.

Home Tips To Be Shared

Here are some tips and ideas for house keeping and home making:

1. How to remove coloured stains from white or silver surfaces?
Answer: Apply toothpaste on the affected surfaces, then rubbing with a wet cloth.
More: I have personally tested with my kitchen solid top and it works.

2. Add some vinegar to the water you use to mop your ceramic floor to keep it shiny.

3. When cooking hard-boiled eggs, add a pinch of salt to the water. Why? It makes it easier to peel off the shell.

4. In order to clean the inside of a water bottle, put 2 - 3 tablespoons of salt in it, then add a little water and shake vigorously.

5. Use old toothbrushes to scrub bathroom corners or to remove stubborn dirt between tiles.

Uses Of Vinegar:

Vinegar is inexpensive but it can be a great helper to a home maker:

Kill germs on bathroom fixtures by using one part vinegar to one part water in a spray bottle. Spray the bathroom fixtures and floor, then wipe clean.

Soap and stain build up can be removed from chrome and plastic fixturesif they are cleaned with a mixture of 1 teaspoon of salt and 2 tablespoons of distilled vinegar.

Clean soap scum, mildew, and grime from bathtub, tile, and shower curtains. Simply wipe the surface with Vinegar and rinse with water.

Stubborn stains can be removed from the toilet by spraying them with vinegar and brushing vigorously. The bowl may be deodorized by adding 3 cups of distilled vinegar. Allow it to remain for a half hour, then flush.

Unclog a shower head by unscrewing it, remove the rubber washer, place the head in a pot filled with equal parts Vinegar and water, bring to a boil, then simmer for five minutes.

Corrosion may be removed from showerheads or faucets by soaking them in diluted distilled vinegar overnight. This may be easily accomplished by saturating a terry cloth towel in vinegar and wrapping it around the showerhead or faucet.

Bath tub film can be removed by wiping with vinegar and then with soda.Rinse clean with water.

Christmas count down

Christmas is celebrated throughout the Christian population, but is also celebrated by many non-Christians as a secular, cultural festival. The holiday is widely celebrated around the world, including in the United States, where it is celebrated by 96% of the population. Because gift-giving and several other aspects of the holiday involve heightened economic activity among both Christians and non-Christians, Christmas has become a major event for many retailers.

Fish Soup Craving

Holland Village XO Fish Head Bee Hoon: The Original XO Fish Soup

Who in the world would think of putting XO into Fish Soup?

Located at Blk 46, Holland Drive. A guy who loves XO, does that! It turns out that the inventor of the XO Fish Soup was none other than an XO salesman who loved his drinks so much that he added it into Fish Soup. And as it turned out, it worked!

The creamy fish soup like any European cream based sauce, putting a dash of brandy in it actually does make sense. Since this soup is "branded", its price is also "branded" as well. Coming in different serving sizes. Price ranges from $7, $12 to $16/bowl, which cost more than the normal type.

Heard from others, you can't just simply add the XO into the soup at the end. Firstly, you don't just use any old XO, it must the best grade. Then it has to be added into the soup while it is boiling and allowed to cook for a little while (the timing is a trade secret). The dash of XO just prior to serving is but the garnishing at the end of the cooking process.

This uniquely taste of Fish Soup is making him, who is a non-fish lover to be attracted to this noodle as well! Now i will be having kakis enjoying this soup together.

Jing Hua Sliced Fish Bee Hoon: Hmmm..

Located at 77 Maxwell Road Food Centre. This is simply the most delicious fish soup I have had. I had my doubts at first when there were so many people lining up for the fish soup, but my first taste of it was quite an awesome experience.

Forget all about XO, if you've got a tasty fish soup, you don't need to hide behind the veil of XO brandy. Plus the best thing is that you don't have to pay a bomb for the fish soup because it comes in individual servings ($4/per bowl). The only problem with it is the long queue even in off peak periods. But there is a good reason why there is a queue and it is because each bowl of soup is made individually. But trust me, the queue is worth it especially when it is someone else who doing the queueing!
